Rasika Sundaram spoke at Chennai Youth Assembly IV, guiding gender equality projects, promoting intersectional, survivor-centered approaches, and encouraging youth to design inclusive, sustainable solutions addressing gender-based violence collectively.


Workshop at M.O.P Vaishnav College for Women
Imaara Foundation conducted a GBV-focused ethics workshop for 46 psychology students, improving confidence and understanding of confidentiality, professional roles, power dynamics, and ethical AI use through interactive, case-based learning.

One Young World Summit
Rasika Sundaram received Hauwa Ojeifo Scholarship 2025, attending One Young World Summit Munich, gaining global recognition, partnerships, and visibility for Imaara’s survivor support, mental health, and GBV work.


Keynote Speech at OYW
Imaara’s founder, Rasika Sundaram, served as a keynote speaker and session facilitator for the Action Circle on Gender Equality: Eradicating Violence Against Women and Girls at the One Young World 2025 Summit in Munich, Germany.
The session brought together 70 young leaders from around the world, creating a collaborative space to deepen understanding and co-design solutions addressing violence against women and girls.
A Collaborative Panel Discussion
The founder of Imaara Foundation, Rasika Sundaram, provided insights into the most pressing psychological challenges faced by survivors, the societal norms that perpetuate these struggles, and the systemic reforms urgently needed to better support the mental health of GBV survivors in India. She shared these perspectives during the two-hour panel discussion, Navigating Trauma: Cultural Insights into GBV’s Psychological Impact on Indian and Filipino Women, hosted by Breaking Silence Movement and Hibiscuss Foundation for Social Welfare.
Guest Lecture at LIBA
Rasika, Imaara's founder, conducted a guest lecture at Loyola Institute of Business Administration for first-year PGDM students. She shared her journey of starting Imaara, the intent behind its inception, the importance of awareness on GBV and survivor support, and her key learnings along the way. She also emphasized the need for social entrepreneurship, the social value creation process, and inspired aspiring social entrepreneurs to become more socially active.


Workshop with Ulavisai
Conducted a 2-hour interactive workshop on GBV awareness and survivor support for undergraduate and postgraduate psychology students, as well as practicing psychologists, in collaboration with the organization Ulavisai.
Online Workshop for NGO Gawain
We conducted an online workshop on gender-based violence (GBV) awareness and bystander intervention for team members of the Delhi-based NGO Gawain. The session aimed to sensitize participants to GBV-related issues and strengthen their efforts to prevent violence and support survivors in the slum communities they serve.

Session at Krea University
We conducted a training session on bystander intervention techniques for the students of Krea University in Andhra Pradesh and facilitated an in-depth dialogue on the subject.
Workshop at MOP Vaishnav College, Chennai
We conducted a workshop to the first and second year Psychology department students at MOP Vaishnav College for Women in Chennai on Breaking the Silence: Understanding GBV and supporting survivors.
ECOVI Consultation
Rasika represented Imaara Foundation as a key expert to the stakeholder workshop in Delhi in January 2025 which is part of the European Union funded research project, ECOVI, focused on tackling economic violence against women in Indian communities. Her expertise and insights were valuable as the work involved developing a curriculum for the ECOVI project—an innovative and globally significant research effort dedicated to understanding and preventing economic partner violence.

Our 2024 Highlights
Training at CIHTS, Varanasi
We conducted a training on GBV prevention and bystander intervention for university students. This training was organized by The Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy and took place at The Central Institute for Higher Tibetan Studies in Varanasi.
Training at STS, Darjeeling
We conducted training on GBV prevention and bystander intervention for high school students. This training was organized by The Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy and took place at The Sambhota Tibetan School in Darjeeling.
Creative Voices in Healing
We hosted a Creative Voices in Healing Journeys online workshop to explore art as a safe space for emotional healing, creative expression, advocacy for survivors, and a supportive outlet for those facing life’s stresses.
Unite To End GBV Event
The Imaara Survivor Support Foundation, with the generous sponsorship of the Shree Geeta Bhavan Trust, hosted the Unite to End Gender-Based Violence event on December 21, 2024 at Geeta Bhavan.
The event featured four impactful workshops addressing various aspects of Gender-Based Violence (GBV):
